He was retired from Champion International Paper Company.
He is survived by his wife. Amelia D. Clem; daughter, Rose Marie (Michael) Sales; sons, Robert E. (Gwen) Clem Jr., Allan (Dora) Clem, Darrell(Laura) Clem; brother, Russell Clem; 7 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Sunday, August 9, 2015 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Alamo Funeral Home with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. that same evening. Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 10, 2015 at 9:45 a.m. at Alamo Funeral Home with the interment to follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery with military honors.
