Wife of Organized Crime figure Jack "Legs" Diamond.

On July 1, 1933, Jack's widow, Alice Kenny Diamond, 31, was found with a bullet to her left temple at 1641 Ocean Avenue in the Midwood Section of Brooklyn, NYC. She had been dead for two days when the building superintendent and two painters found her body. It was speculated that she was shot by Jack's enemies to keep her quiet but others say that she may have committed suicide.

At the crime scene, there were three cups of coffee on her kitchen table, indicating that Alice had welcomed her callers, and police let it be known that an expression of disbelief was still frozen on her face when she was found.

It was further theorized, for a time at least, that she might have been ready to come forward with information relating to the circumstances that lead to Legs Diamond's death in 1931 and she had to be silenced. As it turned out, she was merely overheard talking too much (especially after a few drinks) about a petty neighborhood killing of which there were suspects, but not enough evidence to pin on an actual perpetrator or perpetrators.

After Legs' death in Dec of 1931, Alice made a few appearances as a side show on Coney Island for extra Income as "Mrs. Jack 'Legs' Diamond." (See photo section.)

Alice was buried in an unmarked grave with her beloved husband "Legs" at Mount Olivet cemetery in Queens, NYC.
