KUYKENDALL, William A. Age 82, of Hamilton, passed away on Saturday, July 22, 2006, at Ft. Hamilton Hospital. Born on November 13, 1923 in London, Kentucky, he was the son of the late William Luther and Elizabeth May (Ryan) Kuykendall. On November 19, 1949 in Hamilton, William married Mary Louise Jackson. He was a Fireman for Hamilton for 29 years and a member of St. Peter in Chains Catholic Church. From 1943 to 1948 William was enlisted in the United States Army, serving during World War II. He was also a survivor of the Normandy Invasion Omaha Beach and Battle of the Bulge. He was a lifetime member of VFW Post #1069. William enjoyed woodworking in his workshop and was also an avid bowler. William is survived by his wife of 56 years, Mary; sons, William H. Kuykendall and his wife Rose and Daniel M. Kuykendall and his wife Cynthia Scrimizzi, all of Hamilton; daughter, Marie A. Miller and her husband Mark of Hamilton; three grandchildren, William A.J. Kuykendall, Theresa L. Griffith and her husband Jimmy and Mark F. Miller, Jr.; five great-grandchildren, Amber, Tabbitha, Allison, Christopher, and Kimmberly; brothers, Richard Kuykendall and Raymond Kuykendall and his wife; sister, Ann Hamil; Aunt Alice and Aunt Pat; and many other family and friends. William was preceded in death by his parents, William and Elizabeth; and six brothers. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Peter in Chains Catholic Church, 382 Liberty Ave., Hamilton at 11a.m. on Wednesday, July 26, 2006 with The Rev. Timothy S. Bunch officiating. Interment will follow at Hickory Flat Cemetery. Friends and family will be received prior to the service on Wednesday from 9-11a.m. at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made in William's name to the charity of your choice.
