This company was known at various times as Captain Shores' Company, Company H and Company K, 8th Regiment Tennessee Infantry. The 8th Regiment Tennessee Infantry was organized for State service on May 29, 1861, registered into the service of the Confederate States on August 31, 1861, and reorganized on May 8, 1862. About April 9, 1865, the 1st, 6th, 8th, 9th, 16th, 27th, 28th, and 34th Regiments Tennessee Infantry and the 24th Battalion Tennessee Sharp Shooters were consolidated and formed the 1st Consolidated Regiment Tennessee Infantry, which was paroled at Greensboro, North Carolina on May 1, 1865.
