Stella “Marie” Wagoner, 85, was surrounded by her loving family when she went home to be with the Lord on August 8, 2015. Marie was born April 28, 1930 to Jones and Jettie Moxley Adams. She grew up in Boonville, NC and attended Boonville High School. She worked many years at Duplan and Lucia. Marie finished out her years of employment working in the deli at Kroger and Lowes Foods where she was loved dearly by her customers. She prided herself in making the freshest foods possible for her customers. Marie would pull ingredients from the shelves and prepare homemade dishes to serve. She also loved to bake, decorate cakes, sew, and mostly spend time with her loving family. Marie was a member of North Oak Ridge Baptist Church. She had a strong faith in Jesus and was ready to go home.
In addition to her parents, Marie was preceded in death by her former husband, T.R. Wagoner. She is survived by three children, Patricia (Jackie) Shores, Elizabeth (Matthew) McDonald, and Michael Wagoner; four grandchildren, Thomas, Cynthia, and Blake Shores and Casey Cox; two great grandchildren, Hannah and Ace Shores; a brother, Howard (Lorraine) Adams; twin sisters, Jolene Sheek and Colene Matthews; three nieces and two nephews.
A funeral service will be conducted Tuesday, August 11, 2015 at 11:00AM at North Oak Ridge Baptist Church with Rev. Phillip Link and Rev. Tim Gammons officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
