Mary,who went by Mollie, was born 7-16-1887 in Statesville, Iredell Co, NC. Her parents were Flora Wilson Fulp Anderson and Lewis Allen Anderson. She married Robert Lindsay Reed 9-28-1908 in Statesville. They had one daughter, Marianna Wilson Reed on 11-25-11, she was born on Statesville, N.C.
They moved to Charlotte around 1920. During the war, women were asked to work for the rubber plant in Charlotte to make supplies for the soldiers and Mary did. Some of her certificates for "hard work" are attached.
After that work she worked as a nurse at St Peters Hospital. She also loved keeping children and did a lot of babysitting.
She died 2-19-1977 at the age of 89 1/2 years. I would love to have some of her chicken and dumplings. We used to stay in the kitchen each Saturday and cook. Afterwards we would go and pick flowers from the garden. Happy memories!
