Mertie Lou Dyer, age 84 of Blairsville, Ga, passed away Wednesday, April 5, 2006 at Union County Nursing Home.
Mrs Dyer was born Monday, April 25, 1921 in Union Co. Ga. to the late Edward Reid and Lillie Mae Spiva Reid. She was a member of Union Baptist Church and a native and life long resident of Union County. She was preceded in death by daughter, Gladys Patton and sister, Juanita Reid..
Survivors include: husband, Woodrow Wilson Dyer, daughter, Lorene Odom of Blairsville, daughter, Vivian Hedden of Blairsville, grandchildren, Wayne Odom, Cerelda deHeus, Chris Odom, Avis Hedden, Jackie Yost, great-grandchildren, Jonathan & Timothy Yost, Amy & Melissa Odom, Jessie & Chelsea Odom, Kimberly deHeus.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, April 9, 2006 at 4:00PM from the Union Baptist Church with the Rev. Stacy Dyer and Rev. Benny Nix officiating. Interment will follow in Union Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-9, Saturday, April 8.
