SILAS D. HALL
Silas D. Hall, age seventy years, passed away at his home in the Cravens community, March 9, 1943, after a few weeks of illness.
Funeral services were held at the Cravens Baptist Church Thursday afternoon at 2:00, in the presence of many friends and relatives who were greatly moved because of the going away of this good man.
W.G. Lucas, pastor of the Cravens Baptist Church officiated at the funeral assisted by Rev. O.T. Rayben, pastor of the Stonewall Baptist Church. He was laid to rest in the city cemetery, Wilburton.
Pall bearers were: Bill Chambers, Fred Dunlap; C.C. Dunlap, Leo Dunlap, Fred Guthrie, and Melvin Pate.
Silas D. Hall was born in Kansas, Nov. 21, 1873. He was united in marriage to Catherine Fronia Long, July 2, 1897, at Rocky Comfort, Mo. To this union were born nine children, two of whom preceded the father in death. He leaves, besides his wife, four sons, three daughters; Charles T. Hall, Stonewall, Okla., Walter D. Hall, Detroit, Mich., Joe Hall, Cravens, J.C. Hall, Center Point, Mrs. Pearl Burger, San Francisco, Calif., Mrs. Ruby Smith, San Francisco, Calif., Mrs. Gladys Hawthorne, Oakland, Calif., one brother, Tom Hall, Cravens, one sister, Mrs. Lizzie Gray, Whittier, Calif., and ten grandchilren.
All were here for the funeral except Mrs. Burger, Mrs. Smith and his sister.
Mr. Hall has been a member of the Cravens Baptist Church since 1939.
Those attending from out of town were Rev. and Mrs. O.T. Rayban, Mrs. Glenn Rickner, and Carl Turner all of Stonewall, Okla.
