October 23, 1933 - August 8, 2015Fernando Acevedo, 81 went to be with the Lord on August 8, 2015. He was born October 23, 1933 in Elgin, Texas to Jesus and Macrina Gonzales-Acevedo.At the age of 19, Nando was drafted into the U.S. Army and served during the Korean War. After returning home, he joined the family produce business, J. Acevedo & Sons, he then began his own business, F. Acevedo Trucking and Havana Nightclub. He lived life with a smile on his face and had a happy-go-lucky personality. Fernando is preceded in death by his parents, Jesus and Macrina Acevedo; Brothers: Alberto, Ramiro, Jesus, Ernesto and Raul. He is survived by his loving wife, Rosemarie Acevedo, children: Fernando Jr. (Irene), Ralph(Cindy), Elizabeth Torres(Larry), Diana Cervantes(John), Sandra Cantu (Chuck) Hilda Hughey(Robert), Guillermo(Sheila) and Stephanie Espinosa(Mario); sisters, Ernestina Garza and Anita Collazo and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.A visitation will be held on Thursday August 13, 2015 from 12:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a rosary at 7:00 p.m. A mass will be held at Resurrection of the Lord Catholic Church on Friday August 14, 2015 at 9:30 a.m. with interment at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
