Steve Henderson

Stephen Craig (Steve) Henderson age 62 of Florala passed away from injuries receive at his home, August 10, 2015. He was born in Florala on June 15, 1953 to Selma Henderson and Beatrice Pickron Henderson. He worked as a furniture manufacturer. Steve was an avid Alabama Crimson Tide Fan and enjoyed watching the games with his family and friends. Roll Tide was his favorite phrase. Steve had an extraordinary love of South Alabama landscape and was the most content on an old dirt road. Steve had a generous heart especially towards people in need and children. His greatest love, however was his wife, children and two precious granddaughters, who referred to him as “Pop”. Steve was always quick to help anyone he could, and the word enemy was not in his vocabulary. He befriended everyone and was a highly respected and loved friend. Steve served his country in the United States Army, where he served as a petroleum specialist. He was preceded in death by father, Selma Henderson; mother, Beatrice Henderson Fleming; step father, Leroy (Dick) Fleming and brother, Ricky Henderson.

He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Cynthia; son Rocky Henderson of Pontotoc, MS; daughter, Cyndi Henderson of Smith Station, AL and granddaughters Sadie Henderson and Olivia Henderson of Pontotoc, MS; sister Sandy Jordan and husband Will of Jack, AL; brothers, Mike Fleming of Lockhart, AL; and James (Flip) Fleming and wife Serena of Fernandina Beach, FL.

Visitation will be Thursday, August 13, from 6-8 PM. Funeral services for Steve Henderson will be 10 AM Friday, August 14, 2015 from Evans Funeral Home with Randy Holtz and Will Jordan officiating. Interment will be at Greenwood Cemetery.
