Harriet Wilson, 89 of Red Lake Falls, MN died on Thursday, June 21, 2012 at Hillcrest Senior Living Center in Red Lake Falls surrounded by her loving family.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 26, 2012 at 11:00 AM in Bethany Lutheran Church in Red Lake Falls with Reverend Gary Graff Officiating. Burial will be held at Oak Grove Cemetery in Red Lake Falls.

Visitation will be held on Monday at Johnson Funeral Service in Red Lake Falls from 5 – 8 PM with a 7:00 Prayer service and also one hour prior to services at the church on Tuesday.

Harriet Eleanor Vinge was born on February 4th, 1923, daughter of the late Ole J. Vinge and Thea Tollefson at Blue Mounds Township in Pope County, MN. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. She attended School District #83 through the 8th grade. On February 4, 1944, she was united in marriage to Woodrow Charles Wilson in Starbuck, MN. The couple moved to Red Lake Falls, that same year where she has been residing ever since.

Harriet worked at Hillcrest Nursing Home for 39 years and was awarded the employee of the year in 1982 and 1997. During her tenure at Hillcrest, she mentored numerous employees in providing compassionate care for the residents. Harriet was a kind, honest person, who looked for the best in everyone. Family was her first priority. She was a wonderful Grandma who never ran out of kisses or cookies.

Some of her favorite activities were sewing, gardening, card playing and music. She was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church including the Ladies Circle. She especially enjoyed preparing and serving Norwegian food for the smorgasbord.

Harriet is survived by her children, Warren (Marilyn) of Sun Prairie, WI, Jan Bolstad of Champlin, MN, Darlene Mickelson of Maple Grove, MN, Richard Wilson of Anderson, SC, Byron, “Buzz” Wilson, of Red Lake Falls, MN, Scott Wilson, of Lacey, WA, Kathleen (Gerald) Schultz of Crookston, MN, Renae (Steve) Philipp, of Red Lake Falls, MN, and Laurie (Perry) Duden of Red Lake Falls, MN. Grandchildren are, Brenda Albrecht, Karen (Steve) Skarda, Sarah (Micah) Wyss, Barbara Wilson, Jon Boatwright (fiancé, Stephanie Trask), Kara (Glen) Spielmans, Karla Mickelson, Claire Mickelson, Tania (Matt) Waldal, Matthew Wilson, Bryce Wilson, Daniel Wilson, Katie Wilson, Curtis Henderson, Lindsey (Jason) Tester, Renae Henderson, Hannah (Cole) Seeger, Samuel (fiancé, Kayla Knott) Pahlen, Benjamin (fiancé, Kelly Seeger) Pahlen, Greta Philipp, William Duden, Emma Duden, Jake Duden. Great-grandchildren, Ty Albrecht, Eric Albrecht, Nathan Albrecht, Lauren Albrecht, Samantha Skarda, Jonah Skarda, Kate Skarda, Caleb Wyss, Isaac Wyss, Benjamin Spielmans, Cody Mead, Madilyn Waldal, Gavin Waldal, Judd Wilson, Addison Tester, Jace Seeger, Halle Seeger, Abigail Seeger. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Woodrow, on May 11, 1977; grandson, Brian; sons-in-law, Timothy Pahlen and Mark Henderson; daughter-in-law, E. Arlene Wilson; grandson, Jeremy Albrecht; and siblings, Alvin Vinge, Otto Vinge, Pearl Vinge, Olive Hoverud, Agnes Dokken, Ruth Dokken, and Marion Gorder.
