Veda Laura Mace Priest, 86, of St. Anthony died April 3, 1992, at the Madison Memorial Hospital of causes incident to age.
She was born July 24, 1905, at Teton, to Fredrick Chapman and Laura Eliza Gardner Mace. She grew up in Teton where she received her schooling.
She married Lester Priest on Aug. 5, 1922, at Taylor. The marriage was solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple on Jan. 30, 1953. He died March 19, 1986. They lived in Taylor for 12 years before moving to Teton. In 1960, they moved to St. Anthony.
She was an active member of the LDS Church. She was a foster grandmother at the Youth Services Center. She was also a member of the Veteran's of Foreign Wars Auxiliary and the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers.
She is survived by five sons, DeWayne Priest of Emmetsburg, Iowa, Ray Priest of Idaho Falls, Garold Priest and Reed Priest, both of Pocatello, and Gary Priest of St. Anthony; two brothers, Irvin Mace and Wayne Mace of Parker; one sister, Elva Flint of St. Anthony; 27 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three sisters and two brothers.
Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 1 p.m. in the St. Anthony Third LDS Ward with Bishop Jerry Edgington officiating. The family will meet with friends at the church on Tuesday one hour before the services. Burial will be in the Teton-Newdale Cemetery under the direction of Bidwell Funeral Home.
