NELSON I. BANEY, 73, of Fort Wayne, passed away on Thursday, Jan. 8, 2015. Born June 13, 1941, in Fort Wayne, he worked at Uniroyal Goodrich for 30 years. Nelson was well known as a bingo caller at several area organizations. He was a Navy veteran and an avid Notre Dame fan. He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Rochelle "Shelly" Baney; four daughters, Jackie Baney, Vickie (Jeff) Wiedelman, Barbara (Kevin) Baney, and Kim (J.P.) Baney, all of Fort Wayne; 10 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and brother, Michael (Debbie) Baney of Tempe, Ariz. He was preceded in death by his parents, Marion and Alice Baney. A Celebration of Life for family and friends is from 5 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 13, 2015, at Lester's, 1500 Bluffton Road. In lieu of flowers, please send memorials to the family.
