Salters - Funeral services for Amanda Ophelia Jackson, conducted by the Rev. Benjamin Grate, were held Friday, July 3, 2015, at St. Phillip AME Church of Salters. Burial, directed by Henryhand Funeral Home, followed at Smith-Cooper Cemetery of Salters. Ms. Jackson died Friday, June 26, 2015. She was born May 5, 1950, in Salters, the daughter of the late Johnny and Margaret Beaufort. She completed Blakely High School in 1968. She was employed by Baxter Pharmaceuticals for a few years. She relocated to Chicago, Illinois, and later moved to Corona, California, where she became an ordained Evangelist in the Churches of God in Christ and worked alongside her husband at their church, “Christian Center C.O.G.I.C “(later known as “Corona Temple of Faith”). A sister, Jaqueline Beaufort; two brothers, Kenneth Beaufort and Earvin Beaufort; and a paternal half-brother, Roy McCrea, preceded her in death. Survivors are: her husband, Pastor Robert J. Jackson; one daughter, Elesha R. Williams; one son, Christopher M. Jackson; four brothers, Johnny Beaufort (Betty) of Charlotte, North Carolina; Frank Beaufort and Merrick Beaufort, both of Charlotte, North Carolina; and George Beaufort (Sylvia) of Salters; seven sisters, Carol Stowe (William) of Hampton, Georgia; Cynthia Vickers (Calvin) of Winder, Georgia; Helen Mouzon (William) of Jonesboro, Georgia; Berthenia Reed (Dwayne) of Corona, California; and Rendella Lake (Anthony), Costella Miller (Deryl), and the Rev. Rebecca English (Noelton) of Columbia; and eight grandchildren.
