Funeral will be at 2 pm Tuesday at Crestwood Chapel for William J C Barnett, 77, Glencoe, who died Saturday, Jan 27, 2001. The Revs Tommy Ferguson and Ray Stafford will officiate. Burial will be in Crestwood Cemetery. Crestwood Funeral Home is in charge.

Mr Barnett was a veteran of World War II, retired from the military after 24 years of service with the rank of WO2 and was retired from Anniston Army Depot. He attended Goodyear Heights Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie and Vida Barnett, sister, Ilene Barnett, and daughter-in-law, Annette Barnett.

He is survived by his wife, Dot Barnett; son, Charlie Barnett; granddaughter, Carrie (Warrant officer Jerry) Works II; grandson, Andy (Susan) Quinn; great-grandchildren, Tiffany, Jessica and David Pitts; sister, Larue Jones; nephews, James (Paula) Snow, Terry Snow and Mike Snow; niece, Brenda (Jimmy) Palmer; great-niece, Amy Snow, and a host of special friends.

Pallbearers will be members of Goodyear Heights Baptist Church.

Honorary pallbearers will be James Booker, Auther Brown, Ewell Nesmith, Chester Shew, Guy Biggs and Williard Chandler.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight at the funeral home.
