William D. Gargan, In Hollywood
Had Left Here With Wife Year Ago to Join His Sons in Film Colony
William Dennis Gargan, formerly of Garfield Place, died yesterday at his home, 1523 N. McCadden Place, Hollywood, Cal., after a year’s illness. Mr. Gargan was born in Manhattan but lived most of his life on the Park Slope. A year ago he left Brooklyn with his wife to be with his two sons in Hollywood who are in motion pictures. William, the younger son, has appeared in many important pictures with Hollywood stars. In Brooklyn Mr. Gargan was for many years in the building business and was an active member of the Brooklyn Lodge of Elks. Mr. Gargan is survived by his wife, Mrs. Irene Flynn Gargan; two sons, Edward and William, and two grandchildren, Barry and Leslie Gargan. The sons have been in Hollywood for the past five years. Funeral services will be held tomorrow morning with requiem mass at a Hollywood R. C. church and interment in a Hollywood cemetery.
