Last Saturday afternoon the L. & N. passenger train killed Mrs. Sara Elizabeth Allen, when she attempted to cross the tracks ahead of the train. Just why she did not see the train is not known. She was knocked from the track, receiving severe cuts and many broken bones. The body was picked up and brought to the station. The accident occured near her home, which is located near the point where the Sico road crosses the L. & N. joining the Talladega highway.

Mrs. Allen was seventy-four years old. She is survived by four sons, T.M. Allen, of Chelsa; Norman Allen, of Clanton; Jim Allen, of Atmore; H.C. Allen, of Sylacauga, and one daughter, Miss Jo Annie Allen. Funeral services were conducted Sunday morning from the Church of God with Rev. Yates officiating. Interment was made at Mignon cemetery with Service Funeral Home in charge.

There is no grave marker for Sarah Elizabeth Allen. She could be buried in the vicinity of her twin brother, Richard Alexander Allen, Jr., and his wife Mae C. Allen. Her parents were Richard Alexander Allen and Martha Elizabeth Housley.
