A.C. Gribble, 85, a Las Vegas Security entrepreneur, Western Airlines executive, Alaskan pioneer, fisherman, loving husband and father, passed away Thursday, Aug. 13, 2015. He was born March 26, 1930, and was raised on a small farm in southern Colorado. A.C. worked on the Great Western Railroad and was the manager of the Ralston Purina Granary. He married Kathrine Lee Schade and soon started a family. In 1963, A.C. took his family to Homer, Alaska, where he homesteaded, started little league baseball, was the first manager of the Port of Homer, joined Western Airlines, raised his 3 sons and daughter and loved to take them and others boating and fishing. A.C. rose through the ranks of Western Airlines managing several stations in Juneau, Seattle, San Francisco, where he met Carole and was married, and finally Las Vegas, as the Regional Director for Western. After he retired from Western Airlines, A.C. started and managed several Security Companies and Pia Zadora Airlines, which was sold to Carnival Cruises. Through his life he loved to boat and fish on Lake Mead, to return to Alaska and fish in Kachamak Bay by Homer, and to fish the Tsiu River south of Valdez, Alaska, with his family and friends. A.C. will be missed by his family and many very close friends. A.C. is survived by his wife, Carole Ann Gribble; daughter, Charlotte Moss and her husband, Bob; son, Ken Gribble and his wife, Diana; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. There will be no services as he would like you to remember him in your own way. God Bless.
