Bailey Ralph Hankins, 71, of Crossett died at his residence on Wednesday, October 30, 2002. Born in Gideon, MO, to Benjamin William and Effie Blanche Nelson Hankins on November 19, 1930, he was in trucking management in the transportation industry and served in the U. S. Army. He was a past president of Prairie County Club, a member of the Men's Golf Association, a protestant and enjoyed playing golf and pool.

Survivors include three sons, Bailey R. Hankins, Jr., of Cleveland, MS, Brant R. Hankins of Highland Village, TX, and Bradley R. Hankins of Cabot; one daughter, Janice A. Schafersman of Littleton, CO; three sisters, Wanda Parson of Nashville, TN, Norma Adams of Killeen, TX, and Ann Cossey of Gideon, MO; ten grandchildren.

Preceded in death by his beloved wife, Mildred 'Millie' Chappell Hankins.

Funeral services were at 10 a.m. Friday, November 1, in the Jones Funeral Home chapel in Crossett with Rev. Joe Sponaugle officiating. Pallbearers were H. T. Nichols, Regan Hankins, Jim Pettit, John Carpenter, Larry Richardson, C. A. McGee and Jack Thornton. Honorary pallbearers were Terri Terai, A. B. Moore, David Barnes, C. J. Holiman, Don Hart, and Men's Golf Association members. Burial followed services at Pinewood Memorial Park.
