Rebecca was born in Pendleton County (Pendleton is no longer a county but there is a town of Pendleton in Anderson County. Pendleton County was split into Anderson and Pickens county.), in the far western part of South Carolina. Rebecca and Alexander were married at Pendleton County, South Carolina around 1828. They moved to Blount County, Alabama in or prior to 1836. They owned property in far western Blount County south west of Blount Springs.
