Agnes was married on November 27, 1912, to James Cantey Whitaker, III. They were blessed with seven sons and two daughters. She met James in 1909 while working as a stenographer with E G Seibels Insurance Company. Agnes grew up in Columbia. Her father was a druggist and owned McGregor's Drug Store on Main Street. He died when she was almost 9 years old, and her brother inherited the business in 1894. She was next to the youngest child in the McGregor family. Her parents had seven sons and two daughters as she also had. Granny Whitaker was a precious, sweet lady, one who loved her Lord.
