Clara Dorothy Carstensen, 43, a life resident of Davenport, died Thursday morning in a local sanitarium after a long illness. She was born Dec. 21, 1900, in Davenport, the daughter of Mrs. Frieda Carstensen and the late Asmus O. Carstensen. In 1920 she was married to Ira Wright, and when they were later divorced she resumed her maiden name. She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran church. Survivors include her mother, Mrs. Frieda Carstensen, Davenport, one son, Corp. E_____ Wright, in the European theater of war; two sisters, Mrs. Andrew Scherer, Davenport; and two brothers, Harry Carstensen, Davenport, and Walter Carstensen, Wesley, Ark. One son, Harold, preceded her in death. The body is at the Hill & Fredericks mortuary, where the funeral will be held at 3:15 p.m. Saturday followed by burial in Pine Hill cemetery.

She married first in 1920 at Davenport IA to Ira Nathan Wright, then Clarence A. Rogers in 1926 at Rock Island, Illinois. She was estranged from Clarence by 1930, when she was back living with her parents and he was living in a Davenport boarding house. She divorced him in 1931, and that is when she resumed her maiden name, according to the divorce decree.
