Stuart M. Bowerman East Lansing Age 90, born July 1, 1923 in Lansing, Michigan to Willard and Clara Bowerman. Stuart graduated from Central High School and attended MSU for 2½years before being drafted during WWII. As a 1st lieutenant in the Army/Air Corps he was in Air Sea Rescue, skippering an 85' boat. An East Lansing City Councilman from 1948-52 he was the youngest on record. For over 50 years he was a member of the Board of Realtors, where he once served at Vice President. Stuart first worked with Ehinger Realty and then formed Boehm and Bowerman with his business partner and life-long friend, Ed Boehm. Most recently he was at Lyman/Sheets as a realtor/insurer until retirement. Stuart's friendships, home, gardening, swimming and golf were his passions. He was a former member of Walnut Hills Country Club and a member of Peoples Church of East Lansing. Stuart is survived by his daughters, Janeene Bowerman of East Lansing and Jo-Anne Pier of New York City; nephew, Bill Bowerman; niece, Linda Fowler and several cousins. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 67 years, Jeanne. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 2, at Noon at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, 1730 E. Grand River Ave, East Lansing with visitation one hour prior to the service.
