Katherine Ruth Gravlee of Cowan died at Methodist Hospital of Middle Tennessee in Winchester Dec. 31 after a lengthy illness. She was 67. Mrs. Gravlee was born May 2, 1917 in Jackson County, Ala. to the late William C. Pender and Mary C. Reed Pender. She was a homemaker and a member of the Cowan Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Services were at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Watson-Gamble Chapel in Winchester with burial in Franklin Memorial Gardens. Survivors include two sons, Michael Boswell of Houston, Texas, and David Boswell of Nashville; two sisters, Wilma Pender of Cowan, and Bonnie Arnold of Jackson County, Ala.; a brother, O. A. Pender of Cowan; and three grandchildren.
