Passing of Mrs. Killian
Monrovia, Feb 19 - After a long illness, Mrs. J. S. Killian died yesterday at the California Hospital in Los Angeles. She and her husband came from the South a quarter century ago and purchased a ranch in the El Monte district. They were the first to engage extensively in walnut growing in that section and the Killian groves are among the largest individual holdings in the State. They were also the first to develop wells for irrigation in the El Monte district and practically revolutionized the agricultural condition of a vast area. There are four sons, one a recent graduate and another an undergraduate from the University of California. The funeral will be held tomorrow at 1:30 o'clock p.m. Interment will be in the Live Oak Cemetery.
