George Samuel Buhl, 94, formerly of Millsboro, died of pneumonia in the Episcopal Church Home, Hockessin.

Mr. Buhl was a bookkeeper for 30 years at Houston-White Co. of Millsboro. He retired in 1966.

He was a member, licensed lay reader and senior warden emeritus of St. Mark's Episcopal Church, Millsboro. He was lay reader in charge at St. John the Baptist Episcopal Church, Milton, in the 1940s.

He was a member of Possum Point Players in Georgetown and former member of Master Council Cincinnatus 849 of Boy Scouts of America, Philadelphia.

He was past master and chaplain for many years of Franklin Lodge 12 AF&AM of Georgetown; high priest of Hope Chapter 8, Royal Arch Masons of Georgetown; and former grand illustrious master of Delaware Masons. He was the 1979 recipient of the Gold Honor Award from York Rite Masons.

His wife Isabelle Cairns Buhl died in 1977. He was survived by two sons, George S. Jr. of Kingston, Mass., and Frank C. of Wilmington; a daughter, Carol B. Thomas of Milton; and seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

Services were at St. Mark's Episcopal Church, Millsboro, and Masonic services were also held.

Instead of flowers, the family suggested contributions to the memorial fund of St. Mark's Episcopal Church, Millsboro.
