Erie was the daughter of William Milton Johnson and Matilda Elizabeth Calfee. Erie once worked in a laundrey and was involved in the Democratic Party. She was bequethed some money by her aunt Solome Snow Calfee in 1942 and also left $500 from her uncle Marvin Tabor in 1946. She resided at 517 Mercer St., Princeton, WV with her brother Stanley until he died in 1958. Erie spent her later years in a nursing home in Sweet Springs, WV.
