Samuel Bowen, Jr., age 82, entered eternal life at Saint Elizabeth Hospital, in Florence, Kentucky, on Saturday, July 11, 2015. He was born on March 10, 1933. He was a supporter of Troop 890 and a member of Hebron Lutheran Church. He loved to fish and garden.

 

Samuel was preceded in death by: his wife, Blanche Bowen; his parents, Samuel Bowen, Sr., and Pearl Bowen; and four siblings, George Bowen, Dorothy Harding, Evelyn Abney and Karen Yarnell. He will be dearly missed by: his five children, Nancy Wendling (Timothy), of Union, Kentucky, Samuel Bowen, III (Tina), of Independence, Kentucky, Scott Eugene Bowen (Brenda), of Walton, Kentucky, Barbara Crowe (Michael), of Tampa, Florida, and Charlene Jordan, of Cincinnati, Ohio; 19 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren, with two more on the way; and many other family members and friends.

 

First visitation will be from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. Thursday, July 16, at the Linnemann Event Center, in Burlington, Kentucky. Second visitation will be from 9:00 until 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 17, at Hebron Lutheran Church, with funeral services to follow at 11:00 a.m. and burial at Hebron Lutheran Cemetery. Memorial donations can be made to Hebron Lutheran Church
