He was active in the affairs of the Fayetteville Baptist Association for many years, serving at various times as moderator, clerk, treasurer and missionary. Churches he pastored during his ministerial career included Antioch, Apostolic, Black Oak, Center Point, Friendship, Little Elm, Mt. Vernon, Mt. Zion, Oakland, Pleasant Valley, Providence, Shady Grove, Spring Valley, Sulphur City, Summers, and Valley Grove. Pastored Providence Baptist Church from 1902-1908.
