Aaron Michael Scheerhoorn, 28, passed away on Saturday, December 11, 2010 in Houston Texas, declared dead at 12:08 am at Ben Taub Hospital. Tragically, his life was taken at the hand of an assailant that has been apprehended and charged with his murder.

Aaron was born in Concord Massachusetts on March 14, 1982. Throughout his life, Aaron attended schools in Atascocita, Texas and Groton Massachusetts. He returned to Houston in 2002.

Aaron was pursuing a career in the travel industry, while also attending classes at HCC and Mixxwell Audio Lab. Aaron had also worked for numerous well-known catering companies in Houston and aspired to one day start his own catering / event promotion company; his ultimate goal was to create a unified musical event bringing all businesses in Montrose together to restore harmony to the community of Montrose which Aaron cared so much for. Although often misunderstood, Aaron was well known as willing to be the first to step up and help those in need; and those who knew him well knew of his deep compassion and big heart.

Aaron had a strong passion for music, was a voracious reader of many subjects including all aspects of religion, history and philosophy. He was an inquisitive and passionate young man that loved to debate with others on almost any subject.

His outgoing personality touched the lives of many, many people in Houston and especially Montrose. ? too many friends and acquaintances to name here; however he was especially close to Keith Haddon, Jon Pike and Gilbert Hernandez who deeply mourn his passing.

Aaron is survived by his birth mother, Jan Huisman, of Coconut Creek Florida; his father, Mark Scheerhoorn of Sanborn Iowa; and two step-sisters, Kara Jane and Kaitlin Marie Scheerhoorn. Also many aunts, uncles, and cousins will miss him dearly.

Indeed it seems The Prince of Montrose has been taken, left us to be with his God. How will we fill this void? Rest well Aaron. May your dreams of unifying Montrose, restoring peace and harmony come true.

Visitation for Aaron will be held on Tuesday, December, 21, 2010 from 4:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M. at Bering Memorial United Methodist Church, 1440 Harold, Street, Houston , Texas 77006. A Service of Remembrance will follow at 5:00 P.M.

Pallbearers for Aaron's service will be Keith Haddon, Jon Pike, Gilbert Hernandez, Mark Navarro, Randy Judd and Leo Scott. Honorary Pallbearers are Joe Leopold, David Kemp, Tim Pugh and Alvin Linton
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Montrose Counseling Center or the charity of your choice.

Special thanks to Keith Haddon for his generosity and tireless effort in pulling this service during this most difficult time. Thank you Alan Everett, videographer.
