Lloyd C. Gregory, 54, of Irvington, died at 8 p.m. Wednesday at St. Mary's Hospital in Centralia after an extended illness.

He was a stock keeper in the Materials Department at the Illinois Central Shops in Centralia. He had formerly been chief clerk and foreman there and worked for the company for 27 years.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Frieden United Church of Christ at Irvington, of which he was a member, with the Rev. Benjamin Huang officiating.

Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Friends may call at the Luer Funeral Home in Centralia after 6 p.m. Friday and until 10 a.m. Saturday, then from 11 a.m. Saturday until the funeral hour at the church.

Mr. Gregory was born in Mt. Vernon on Dec. 7, 1920, the son of Edward and Effie (Braddy) Gregory.

He married Bernice Zink in Centralia on Feb. 3, 1946. She survives.

He was a member of VFW Post 2055, American Legion Post 446 and Moose Lodge 1219, all of Centralia.

He served as treasurer of the Brotherhood of Railway Workers and Airline Clerk Union 91 of Centralia.

He served as a sergeant in the U. S. Army for 3 1/2 years in World War II, serving in North Africa and Italy.

Besides his wife, survivors include two brothers, Lester and Ruhlin, both of Mt. Vernon.
