Betty Haywood was born July 12, 1930, in Tecumseh, Okla. She had been a portrait photographer for Frogge Studio in Brownfield and later an operator for General Telephone and was known as the first woman CO technician in the SW. She retired from Verizon.
Ms. Haywood lived in Irving, Texas for 31 years.
She is survived by her daughter, Sharon Hoff; her sons, Dana Haywood, Dennis Haywood, and Robert Haywood as well as seven grandchildren; six great grandchildren; also her sisters, Susie Kinserlow and Robbi Nixen of Lubbock.
Remembrances may be made to the National Osteoporosis Foundation.
