Pearl was the only child born to David Calhoun and Mary (Haithcock) Kivett. She married Flavious Armpston Brower in 1927 and they were the parents of six children: Seth Flavious, Lena Gray, David Clifford, William Ross Odell, Ronald Lee and Jimmie Alton.

LIBERTY - Aug. 15 - Mrs. Pearl Kivett Brower, 48, died in an Asheboro hospital late today after a six-month illness. Surviving are her husband, F. A. Brower; one daughter, Mrs. Carroll McMasters of Route 1 Staley; four sons, Clifford, Ross, Ronald Lee and Jimmy, all of the home; and two grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. at Mount Pleasant Baptist Church by the Rev. J. C. Edwards and the Rev. J. R. Duffie. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The body will be placed in the church 30 minutes before the service.
