Allen Wayne Alford passed away early Thursday morning, August 20, 2015 at age 78. Allen was born in Tyler, Texas on April 1, 1937 and was raised in Baytown, graduating from Robert E. Lee High School in 1955. He attended Lee College and finished his degree at Texas A&M College in 1960. Allen started his career with the Texas Forest Service as Education Director and Special Texas Ranger. He then had the opportunity to teach at Robert E. Lee as the Agriculture Education Teacher for nine years. His hard work with the FFA was his fondest of times. To further his career, he acted as Senior Vice President of Forest Park Cemeteries in Houston, Texas. A lifelong member of the Church of Christ, Allen had a servant's heart, a passion for God and compassion for his neighbor. Allen was preceded in death by his parents, Allen Calvin Alford and Annie Ruth Alford. He is survived by his loving wife and sons. Also, survivors include his brother and sister, nine grandchildren and one great granddaughter, as well as several nieces and nephews. Services will be at the Conroe Church of Christ, 1860 Longmire Rd., Conroe, TX, 77304 at 10 a.m. on Monday, August 24, 2015. Interment to follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Lovelady, Texas.
