Stockbroker. Partner of Cumings & Marckwald, located on Wall Street, Manhattan, NY. Husband of Florence Briggs Thayer, they had three sons - John Bradley Jr., Wells and Thayer. Mr. and Mrs. Cumings took a trip to Europe in the Spring of 1912, embarking from the port of Cherbourg, France on the 10th day of April, 1912. They were first class passengers aboard the steamship Titanic, occupying cabin C-85. Mr. Cumings perished in the sinking of the ship, Mrs. Cumings was rescued in lifeboat number 4.
