AGE: 82 • Wilmington

Age 82 of Wilmington, passed away following a brief illness on August 22, 2015.

Primo was born in Wilmington on July 1, 1933, son of the late Frank and Mary (Contino) Aiello. Having enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1953, he was favorably considered for the Good Conduct Medal in 1955 noting excellence in efficiency and character and received Honorable Discharge in 1961. Primo retired from Firestone after 49 years of employment. He was also an amateur boxer and fought under the name "Chilio" for many years. A regular at Delaware Park with his brothers "Siv" and "Shrimpy", he enjoyed the horses and catching up with his many friends at the track. He was also an avid bowler having been a 700 Club Champion two consecutive years and placing on the Top 20 Average List for many years. Primo had a great personality and never had a cross word for anyone.

Primo is survived by his wife of 43 years, Carolyn (Drozdowski) Aiello; son, Joseph (Joyce): grandson, J.P.; mother-in-law, Cecelia Drozdowski; niece/goddaughter, Karen Carnell; great-nephews, Franco and Jaimen; sisters, Rose Naumann (Bob) and Helen Nesci (Nick); brothers, Emelio, Sylvester (Amelia), and Donald (Ginger); his closest and dearest friends, Tom and Debbie Barba; and a host of nieces, nephews, and special friends.

Visitation will be held at the CHARLES P. ARCARO FUNERAL HOME, 2309 Lancaster Ave in Wilmington, on Thursday evening, August 27 from 6-8pm. A Committal Service will be held the following morning, (Friday, August 28) at 10am at the Queen of Apostles Chapel in Cathedral Cemetery, 2400 Lancaster Ave in Wilmington.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Heartland Hospice, 5661 Ocheltree Lane, Wilmington, DE 19808 or to the American Lung Association , 630 Churchmans Rd, Suite 202, Newark, DE 19702.
