Mrs. Rose Sprang, 78, formerly of 1027 S. 14th St., Manitowoc, died Monday evening at Manitowoc County Hospital where she had been a patient four months.
Funeral services will be at 8:30 a.m. Thursday at Pfeffer Funeral Home and at 9 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church, Manitowoc. The Rt. Rev. Msgr. John S. Landowski will officiate and burial will be in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Sprang was born Feb. 14, 1887 at Two Rivers, daughter of the late Frank and Catherine Hoffmann Jacquette. She was married to Adolph Sprang May 29, 1906, at St. Luke Catholic Church, Two Rivers. The couple owned and operated a farm in the Town of Two Rivers until 1935, moving to Manitowoc Rapids, remaining there until coming to Manitowoc in 1940. Mr. Sprang died Nov. 10, 1960.
Mrs. Sprang is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Elmer Naumann and Mrs. Sylvester Koneczka of Manitowoc; six sons, Joseph and Melvin of Manitowoc, John of Two Rivers, Anton of Rt. 4 Manitowoc, Leo of Scottsdale, Ariz., and Herbert of Rt. 1, Whitelaw; two brothers, Joseph and John Jacquette of Two Rivers; three sisters, Mrs. Clara Mathies and Mrs. Helen Werner of Milwaukee and Mrs. Minnie Orth of Manitowoc; 38 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren. A daughter and a son preceded her in death.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 3 p.m. Wednesday where the Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. by members of the parish and Daughters of Isabella, Mystical Rose Circle.
