Born - 10 March 1727 Falmouth, Cumberland, Maine
Died - 7 May 1793 Gardiner, Kennebec, Maine

McCAUSLAND FAMILY GENEALOGY:

The McCausland family originated in Scotland, on the North east side of Loch Lomond.
They went to Northern Ireland at the request of the King of England to collect rents due to the landlords.
When the McCauslands decided to leave Northern Ireland, they and 20 families, bought a boat and traveled across the Atlantic landing in Falmouth, Maine. They stayed on the boat for the winter and in the spring they sailed up the coast to Gardiner in Maine and helped settle the area.
They lived on the boat until the log houses were built in the spring and summer.
In 1760 Henry, and his family, moved to Pittston, Maine to help settle the area; there, he received a land grant for 250 acres in 1764.
