Fern Anderson, age 90 of Chesterton, passed away on Tuesday, August 25, 2015. She was born on February 2, 1925 in Furnessville, IN to Martin W. Nicholson and Delia Grieger Nicholson, both of whom preceded her in death.

In 1947 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, she married Reginald Anderson, who preceded her in death.

She is survived by her daughters: Gail (Ron) Ludwig of Chesterton, Susan (Delbert) Hall of Chesterton and Patricia (Albert) Jackson of Chesterton, five grandchildren: Phillip (Brenda) Renaldo of West Lafayette, IN, Laura Renaldo of Chicago, IL, Michael (Melissa) Hall of Chesterton, Amanda (Jacob) Huseman of Chesterton and Ellen Jackson of Chesterton and four great-grandchildren: Elizabeth and Anthony Renaldo of West Lafayette, IN and Riley and Hannah Hall of Chesterton.

She Is also preceded in death by her son-in-law, Anthony Renaldo, her brothers, Edwin Nicholson and Glenn Nicholson and her sisters-in-law Ruth Nicholson and Lois Nicholson.

Fern was known and admired for her wonderful baking, especially her rolls and pies. She grew up on a dairy farm. She enjoyed reading, loved learning and school and enjoyed flower arranging and fishing. She was an avid Cubs fan and was also a trivia expert. She was a loving mother who took pleasure in creating a comfortable home for her family.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 29, 2015 at 11 a.m. at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 2050 West 1100 North, Chesterton, with a visitation at the church from 10 a.m. until time of service. Pastor Erik Grayvold will be officiating the funeral service. Burial will follow at Chesterton Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday from 4 until 8 p.m. at White-Love Funeral Home, 525 South 2nd Street, Chesterton.

Memorials may be given to Bethlehem Lutheran Church Building Fund or Westchester Meals c/o St. Johns United Church, 225 West Lincoln Ave, Chesterton.
