Mrs. Piercy lived in Fairbury, IL, from 1947 to 2008, and was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Fairbury, National Society of Daughters of the American Revolution, Women's Club, Nature Club, Audubon Society, Garden Club, and served as leader of Girl Scout and Cub Scout groups. She was instrumental in starting and superintending the Fine Arts Division of the Fairbury Fair, as it grew from two small exhibits to fill half an exhibit hall. She won several ribbons for her own paintings, as well as for food and flower exhibits. For 28 years, she helped to run Bill's Sealtest Dairy with her husband. Later, she worked for Dean Williams Jewelry, Motorola, Honegger Feed Company, and Roland's Department Store.
Services will be Thursday, September 17, at 11 a.m. at First Baptist Church, Fairbury. Arrangements are by East Lawn Funeral Home, with interment at East Lawn Memorial Gardens, Bloomington.
