Barbara Ann Axson of Rock Hill (formerly of Orangeburg) died Saturday August 22, 2015 at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill, SC. She was born October 18, 1937 in Woodford, SC. She was the daughter of the late Clayton L. Axson and the late Carrie Lou Martin Axson. She was preceded in death by 3 sisters; Almeda Zeigler, Mildred Jeffcoat and Rowena Jeffcoat.

She was a member of St. Andrews United Methodist Church, a choir member and a soloist. She was a member of the Orangeburg Music Club, a former employee of The Times and Democrat, Orangeburg Redi-Mix Concrete and Pacific Columbia Mills.

The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 AM before the service at the funeral home. Funeral Services will be held 11 AM on Saturday, August 29, 2015 at Thompson Funeral Home Chapel in Orangeburg with burial at Penn Branch Cemetery near North with Rev. Jim Parnell officiating.

Survivors include her brother: William "Bill" Axson of Statesboro, GA; a number of nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews. Friends may call at Thompson Funeral Home, Inc. in Orangeburg. Memorials may be made to Connie Maxwell Children's Home, Brookland Campus, 3105 Five Chop Road, Orangeburg, SC 29115.
