LEO VNUK DIES AT 95; LIVED HERE 70 YEARS
One of Oldest Polish Residents In Manitowoc Dies At Daughter's Home


Leo Vnuk, 95, one of the oldest Polish residents of Manitowoc county, died at 11 o'clock this morning at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Theodore Gorychka, 1807 Marshall street. Funeral services are not completed as yet.

Mr. Vnuk was born in Poland November 28, 1838. He served in the army of that country for several years and at the age of 25 came to the United States. Coming directly to Manitowoc Mr. Vnuk became one of the early settlers of the county. He had lived here for over 70 years. Shortly after settling in Manitowoc he was married to Jane Bonk, who arrived here about the same time he did from Poland. She preceded him in death 26 years ago. For the past 25 years the deceased has been retired.

The deceased is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Alex Rysticken and Mrs. Theodore Gorychka, both of Manitowoc; a son, Leo of Manitowoc; a sister, Mrs. Joseph Koterak of Chicago; 28 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
