Anton Welnetz, 67, of 910 A South 18th St., Manitowoc, died Monday evening at his home following a lingering illness.

Funeral services will be held at 8:30 a.m. Thursday at the Pfeffer Funeral Home and at 9 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church, Manitowoc. The Rev. John Landowski will officiate with burial in St. Mary Cemetery.

Mr. Welnetz was born in 1883 in Colin, Germany, and came to this country in Antigo in 1891. He moved to Cedar Grove in 1920 and came to Manitowoc in 1932. He was a section foreman for the North Western Railroad, and retired 15 years ago.

In 1908, he married Stella Stasiek. She survives with three daughters, Mrs. Robert Maynard of Milwaukee, Mrs. John Engeldinger and Mrs. Wilbert Kumbalek of Manitowoc; two sons, Anthony Jr. and Joseph A., of Manitowoc; two brothers, Frank and John of Antigo; two sisters, Mrs. Nick Greisch of Antigo, and Mrs. George Bruise of Detroit; 13 grandchildren.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 3 p.m. Wednesday until time of services. The rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Wednesday.
