REPORTED TO BE MISSING; WAS WOUNDED

In yesterday's casualty report of the War department the name of Frank Woznicky, Manitowoc, previously reported missing in action, is listed as "wounded severely."

Private Woznicky, it is presumed was wounded and taken to a hospital and some time elapsed before his identity was established and his unit determined, leading to the report that he was missing in action.

Relatives here have received word that he is improving.

Frank Woznicki, 73, formerly of 3407 Calumet Ave., Manitowoc, died Wednesday evening at Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc.

Funeral services will be at 8:30 a.m. Saturday at Leschke-Bergner Funeral Home and at 9 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church, Manitowoc. The Rev. Kenneth Frozena, a nephew, will officiate and burial will be in the church cemetery.

Mr. Woznicki was born Jan. 23, 1897, at Manitowoc, son of the late Anton and Mary Jagodinsky Woznicki. He was employed at Manitowoc Portland Cement Co. retiring in 1962. Mr. Woznicki was a World War I veteran serving in France.

Survivor s include two sisters, Mrs. Tillie Frozena, of Manitowoc and Mrs. Jennie Wencel, of Reedsville, five nieces and five nephews. Two sisters preceded him in death.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 3 p.m. Friday where a Rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. by Father Frozena.
