Miss Judy Pauletta "Aunt Judy" Dorris was born on October 3, 1947, the daughter of Paul Odell Dorris (1918-1987) and Amy "Lorene" (Trammell) Dorris (1919-1999).
She spent many years as a 2nd grade teacher at her mother's school - Mrs Dorris's Kindergarten and School - before receiving her Master's Degree where she continued her passion of working with children as a Speech-Language Pathologist in both the Sumner and Cheatham County School Systems.
"Aunt Judy" - as every one called her - was an incredibly imaginative and loving woman with an infectious smile and spirited personality. She exhibited her love for children as she helped shape and mold them with her unique and optimistic outlook on life. The positive impression she left on young ones will be felt for many years to come. As many of her former students and friends say, "She was everyone's Aunt Judy."
A resident of Hendersonville, Tennessee, she was 67 years old when she passed away on August 25, 2015.
Preceded in death by her parents, she was survived by her sister; brother-in-law; nephew and niece.
A Life Celebration Service was held at Hendersonville Funeral Home, and burial was in Hendersonville Memory Gardens.
