Obituary

Emanuel Schrock, formerly of Grandin, died at the age of 90 years and three months in a Chicago hospital after an illness of three months. He made his home here with his daughter, Mrs. Edith Vanderheide, until last year.

His wife preceded him in death March 4, 1936. Surviving are four children; Mrs. Edith Vanderheide of Grandin, Edgar Schrock of Pontiac, Illinois and George M. and Clarence Schrock of Chicago.

Mr. Schrock came here over 40 years ago and started a grist mill which was about completed when he was called back to Illinois to care for his father. After his father's death he came back and as engaged in the lumber business for a number of years.

He was a devoted Christian and a progressive thinker, always inventing machinery to enlighten the world of better things.

Funeral services were held in Chapel at Chicago, September 10, by Rev. Bond of the Methodist Church.

Memorial services were held in the Grandin Methodist church, September 23, 1945, by Rev. Vaulker. His many friends here are grieved and feel a great loss in his passing. -- Grandin cor.
