Joseph A. Zandala, age 72, formerly of 2501 Custer St., Manitowoc, died Wednesday, Aug. 28, 2002, at St. Mary's Home, Manitowoc.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 3, 2002, at St. Mary Catholic Church, Manitowoc. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Rev. Tom Wojciechowski O.F.M. with burial of the cremated remains at St. Mary Cemetery, Manitowoc, at a later date.

He was born March 3, 1930, in Manitowoc, son of the late Anthony and Salome Norkowski Zandala. Joseph was a graduate of Marquette University, graduating with honors. He was a veteran of the United States Army. Mr. Zandala was a chief accountant at Hamilton Industries for over 25 years, retiring in 1992.

Survivors include four sisters: Clara Kazmierski, Michigan; Genevieve Perlwitz, Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; Sister M. Lola Zandala, Manitowoc; and Lucille Leist, Manitowoc. Also surviving are nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was also preceded in death by three sisters: Wanda Zandala, Frances Steckbauer and Serena Zandala.

The family will greet relatives and friends at St. Mary Catholic Church, Manitowoc, from 9 a.m. Tuesday until the time of service at 10 a.m.

The Pfeffer Funeral Home & Cremation Care Center, Manitowoc, is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
