Thelma I. Felix Verrill, 79, of
Lafayette, formerly of Rt. 1, Delphi,
died unexpectedly at 9:11 a.m.
Oct. 8, 1991, in the Home Hospital
emergency room.

Born March 23, 1912, in eastern
Tippecanoe County, she was raised
in Tippecanoe County and had
lived near Delphi until moving to
East Tipp Heights and then to
Lafayette a year ago.

Her marriage was on Sept. 1,
1939, at Pyrmont, to Albert S. Verrill.
He is a retired principal.

Mrs. Verrill graduated from
Monitor High School and from the
Fort Wayne Beauty Academy. She
operated a beauty shop in her home
for 40 years, retiring last year.
She was a member of the First
Christian Church and the church’s
Serendipity Club and a former
member of Flora Psi Iota Xi
sorority.

Surviving with her husband are a
daughter, Carolyn Kirby of Carmel;
four sisters, Lorene Goodnight,
Bette Trieda and Beverly
Mabis, all of Lafayette, and Donna
Meyers of Arlington Heights, Ill;
five brothers, Melvin Felix of Mulberry,
Keith Felix of Plymouth, and
Gale Felix, Dalton Felix, and Darrell
Felix, all of Lafayette; and two
granddaughters. Two brothers
preceded her in death.

Services were at 10 a.m. Friday
at the Lafayette First Christian
Church with the Rev. Dr. Jack L.
Snellgrove and the Rev. Joan Williams
officiating. Entombment will
be in Tippecanoe Memory Gardens
Mausoleum. Friends may call 5-8
p.m. Thursday at Hippensteel
Funeral Home, Lafayette, and one
hour prior to services at the church.

Memorials may be made to the
First Christian Church or Lafayette
Lions Club.
