PELAGIA ZIARNIK
(1877 - 1941)

Mrs. Anton Ziarnik, 63, nee Blanche Becker, died suddenly at her home, 1213 South 19th street, at 10 o'clock last night. Mrs. Ziarnik dropped dead shortly after returning home.

Funeral services will be held Thursday morning at 8:30 from the home and at nine o'clock from the St. Mary's Catholic Church. The Rev. John S. Landowski will officiate. Burial will be made in the St. Mary's cemetery.

Mrs. Ziarnik was born in Poland on August 10, 1877, and came to America when she was three years of age. Forty years ago she was married to Anton Ziarnik. The couple made their home in Manitowoc since their marriage. She belonged to the Altar, St. Agnes and Rosary Societies of the church. For the past 19 years she has been president of the St. Agnes Society and for the past 50 years she sang in the church choir.

Survivors include the husband, five daughters, Mrs. John Plaskowski, Mrs. Charles Sitkawitz, Mrs. Fred Duenkel, Mrs. Fred Strupp and Mrs. Albert Zagrodnik, all of Manitowoc; a son, Marvin Ziarnik, city; a brother, John Becker, city; and two sisters, Mrs. Veronika Pekulik and Mrs. Angeline Stasiek, both of Manitowoc.

The body will be taken to the home Tuesday at 11 o'clock from the Shimek and Schwartz funeral home. Rosary will be said at the home at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday.
