Thomas A. Short, 71, of Temperance, peacefully passed away at 10:13 a.m. Sunday, August 30, 2015 at his home.
Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Rupp Funeral Home, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday. Rev. Nate Elarton, pastor of Compelled Church, Temperance, will officiate. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park, LaSalle.
Born September 16, 1943 in Erie, Michigan. He was the only son of Tom and Edna (Estes) Short. He married Linda Turner on December 30, 1967.
He was a 1962 graduate of Monroe High School. He worked for Ford Motor Company, Woodhaven Plant, Trenton before taking an early medical retirement.
Surviving are his wife, Linda; two sons, Thomas A. (Mandy) Short of Petersburg and Timothy Short of Temperance; three grandchildren that he adored, Bryce, Noelle and Sawyer Short of Petersburg; sisters, Betty Williams of Fort Myers, Florida, Eunice (Wilbur) Fannin and Dolly Newport both of Plymouth. He also had many brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews who he dearly loved.
He is preceded in death by his mother and father; eight sisters, Ellen Lambert, Lucille Sakall, Ethel Forter, Georgia Whitman, Martha Anderson, Mary Newport, Phyllis Thomas and Linda Notario.
